Tonight's Story
We're deep into the last ten nights of Ramadan now. And the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had a special way he spent these nights — he didn't just pray more. He made dua. Lots and lots of dua. He would raise his hands, close his eyes, and pour his heart out to Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us that dua is the most powerful tool we have. "Dua is worship," he said. When you ask Allah for something, you are doing one of the most beautiful things a person can do — you are admitting that you need Him.
And during Ramadan, duas are extra special. The Prophet ﷺ said that the dua of a fasting person is never turned away. Allah is listening more closely in this month than any other.
For these last nights of Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ taught a dua that is so simple, even the youngest person in this room can learn it. It goes like this: "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni."
It means: "O Allah, You love to forgive, so forgive me." That's it. No fancy words. No long sentences. Just a heart talking to its Creator. And Allah loves this dua because it shows trust — trust that He will forgive, because forgiving is what He loves to do.
You can say this dua anywhere — in your bed, on the prayer mat, in the car, while looking at the stars. Allah hears every whisper. These nights are almost over. Don't let them pass without talking to Allah.
Dua of the Night: The Dua for the Last Nights
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni
"O Allah, You are the One who forgives, and You love to forgive, so forgive me"
The Prophet ﷺ taught us to say this dua during the last nights of Ramadan. It's the most important dua for these nights. Even if you forget everything else, remember this one.
